This coming year, the Trust has decided to return to both the TRAC and Westbrook facilities, for projects in May & August respectively.
Our Trustees and leaders are busy making plans and arrangements and to make both events a success, but here is a quick overview of the key details:
This year's Newent summer project will take place between Monday 29th May & Friday 2nd June 2017.
The trust is aiming to take around 40 children, aged 7-10, on a four night project in the beautiful countryside at the heart of Gloucestershire.
The Tom Roberts Adventure Centre (TRAC: www.tracnewent.org.uk ) facility offers many on site activities for the children to enjoy, which is supplemented by day trips off-site, ranging from swimming to a beach trip.
This year, our Isle of Wight Summer Project will be held at Urban Saints' Westbrook Centre, near Ryde.
The Urban Saints helped us out with access to this facility last year, so this year we've teamed up and have based our residential project at their site (Further details can be found at http://www.westbrookcentre.org.uk/)
Accomodation is all indoors, whilst the centre itself hosts an array of onsite activities, including; an onsite pool, a games room, bushcraft facilities, instructor lead archery sessions, various sport spaces / equipment and lazer tag facilities.
We're looking forward to this new venture and would love to keep our volunteers who can't be involved upto-date with the project through this group.
If you want any further detail on the project, from wanting to get involved, supporting it financially, or just wanting to hear more, then please be in touch.
[NB: The project will run for the children from Monday 21st - Saturday 26th August; Staff will be able to arrive from Saturday Afternoon / Evening]
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
